The Allman Betts Band hit the road in February for a massive spring tour that bleeds into the festival season. While all eyes were on The Brothers Celebrating 50 Years of the Allman Brothers Band last night, the Allman Betts Band were busy spreading the spirit of ABB on the west coast.
One of their stops last week was the Palace Theatre in Los Angeles. LA was treated to a special set of Allman Betts originals and a slew of covers featuring some very special guests.
The first guest of the evening was Gov’t Mule drummer Matt Abts. Abts joined the Allman Betts Band for the Allman Brothers Band classic “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed.”
To close out the set, The Doors founding member Robby Krieger joined in on a pair of tunes including a cover of the Doors’ “Roadhouse Blues.”
The final guest of the evening, Marc Ford, joined Allman Betts Band for their encore. The former Black Crowes guitarist joined Allman Betts Band for the Crowes cover “Wiser Time.”
Thanks to Alan Keller for the footage!
