Bob Weir and Wolf Bros spring tour kicked off on February 28th in Miami Beach and has worked it’s way west. Last night, Weir, Jay Lane and Don Was landed in Nashville at the Ryman Auditorium.
Earlier in the week, Tennessee, including Nashville was ravished by a series of deadly tornadoes. Weir took the opportunity to turn his planned tour stop to a benefit supporting Nashville tornado relief.
Weir, Was and Lane kicked off the evening with a “The Music Never Stopped” that got the crowd into the groove. Over the next few hours, the trio were joined by a bevy of guests from the Nashville area including Jamey Johnson, Emmy Lou Harris, Margo Price and many others.
The show was spectacular from start to finish. Usually a trio, last night’s Bob Weir, Wolf Bros and Friends line-up breathed new life into the arrangements and introduced the Dead community to some new players. One of those new friends was steel pedal guitarist Russ Pahl who was on fire.
