Tom Hamilton, Holly Bowling and the rest of Ghost Light finished their inaugural tour in Cleveland this past weekend at one of my all-time favorite clubs, the Grog Shop. The Grog Shop has capacity for only about 100 people and is one of the most intimate venues you’l ever see a show. The stage is literally one or two feet above the floor and you feel as if you are in a basement seeing a show.
Ghost Light finished their tour as they started it, with plenty jam-filled originals and a couple of covers for good measure. The cover that stuck out the most was the 20+ minute cover of Bob Dylan’s “Tangled Up in Blue.” The Dylan classic nearly ended at the 12 minute mark before Ghost Light dropped a funky beat and jammed on the rest of the tune.
Other notable covers include the monster 25+ minute “Keep On Growing” cover originally done by Derek and the Dominoes.
