Watch Warren Haynes Cover Grateful Dead and Allman Brothers Band at South Farms – 9/13/2020 Set II Video

As concert videographer TonyFranciosi noted, Warren Haynes’ run at South Farms last fall provided “some very bright spots in a very dark year.” Tony recently uploaded the full second set of Warren Haynes’ September 13th gig at the Connecticut farm.

Uncle Warren and Gov’t Mule bandmate Danny Louis jammed on some Mule tunes and choice Allman Brothers Bands and Grateful Dead covers.

Watch Warren Haynes Cover Allman Brothers Band and Grateful Dead at South Farms – 9/13/2020 AUD

After a magnificent night one at South Farms, Warren Haynes along with Danny Louis delivered the goods again in Morris, CT.

While solo Warren shows typically feature Haynes on an acoustic guitar, he donned an electric for these shows which broadened his available song choices. Except for “Forsaken Savior,” Haynes and Louis didn’t repeat any songs from last night. Some of the covers that Uncle Warren treated South Farms to on night two included the Allman Brothers Band’s “Melissa,” and Grateful Dead’s “The Other One.”

Update: Watch Gov’t Mule Pay Homage to Jimi Hendrix’s Woodstock Performance With Blistering “Voodoo Child” at Red Rocks – 8/18/2019 AUD

Gov’t Mule landed at Red Rocks on Sunday night for two sets of good ‘ol classic Mule.

For the encore, Warren said “50 years ago today…” and started the legendary “Voodoo Child” guitar riff. Jimi Hendrix’s rise and shine set on Sunday morning is one of the defining moments of Jimi Hendrix’s career, Woodstock and rock and roll history. Mule’s stellar “Voodoo Child” jam reaches the 15 minute mark.

Watch Gov’t Mule Groove “Spanish Moon” in North Carolina

Gov’t Mule’s spring tour continued in Wilmington, NC earlier this week at the Greenfield Lake Amphitheater.

After two smokin’ sets of Mule, Warren invited Craig Sorrells back up to the stage for a killer version of Little Feat’s “Spanish Moon” including a call and response passage between Warren and Craig. At the end of the song, Warren teases “Thank You” by Sly and the Family Stone and Danny Louis trades in the keys for a trombone. The show ends with Craig and Danny marching off stage, their horns trailing off in the distance. The Little Feat tune is right in Mule’s wheelhouse and they crushed it for a perfect way to finish off the evening.

Listen to Wake Up With Warren Haynes Live at the Peach Festival – 7/22/2018 Full Set AUD

One of the staples of every Peach Festival is the annual Wake Up With Warren Set on Sunday. Warren Haynes, lead guitarist and singer of Gov’t Mule among half a dozen other roles, has created a tradition of sorts with a Sunday morning acoustic set at the Peach Festival dating back to 2016.

Warren was on double duty on Sunday with kicking off the day with his Wake Up With Warren set and then closing down the day with two sets of Gov’t Mule.

Warren’s solo set this year included some Mule tunes, originals and a handful of masterful covers including Leroy Carr’s “Mean Mistreater Mama,” Van Morrison’s “And It Stoned Me” and Allman Brother’s Band’s “Melissa” among others.
