The We Will Get By Streaming Tour travels to night two of the Dead’s two night run at the Family Dog at the Great Highway in San Francisco, CA in the first week of August, 1969.

The Dead delivered another solid performance and went the distance on tunes like “High Time,” “The Other One” and “Dark Star.” What’s interesting about this show is that Jerry and the gang were joined by Charles Lloyd (sax) and David LaFlamme (violin.)

The Dead’s next gig would be there infamous Woodstock set.

Watch the Grateful Dead’s Historic Closing of Winterland Concert – 12/31/1978 Video

The Grateful Dead made Friday nights something to look forward to again during the pandemic with Shakedown Stream. Last night’s concert was legendary Closing of Winterland show on New Year’s Eve 1978.

While the Grateful Dead had homes on both coasts and at many stops in between, the Winterland in San Francisco was arguably their favorite. The Dead clocked 59 shows at the venue before it closed it’s doors. Jerry and the gang in fact played the final show at the Winterland on New Year’s Even, 1978. The show was one for the ages, lasting nearly five hours and ended so late that the audience was served breakfast at dawn. Fun fact: the Dead were joined by none other than actor Dan Aykroyd for the midnight countown.

The show has been released as a four-disc audio set and as a double-dvd as well. One look at the setlist and you’ll understand why it’s one of the best selling Dead releases.

Listen to LOCKN’ Wake Up to Keller Williams’ Grateful Gospel on Sunday – 8/26/2018 Full Show SBD

Before LOCKN’ witnessed the reunion of Branford Marsalis and members of the Dead, Keller Williams’ Grateful Gospel roused campers who were still groggy from the late night festivities from the night before.

Keller Williams, jam band journeyman takes on a couple of alter-egos in addition to this regular act (which is anything but regular) including Grateful Grass and Grateful Gospel. Keller dipped into the Dead and Jerry Garcia Band catalogue with the help of assistance of a gospel quartet.

Highlights of the show include “Ripple” and “Eyes of the World” among others.

After the Dead and Company played their “Johnny B. Goode” encore in Atlanta, the fun was just getting started on the west coast. Phil Lesh and a stellar group of friends played a gig titled ‘Dead Blues’ at Terrapin Crossroads which was streamed for free thanks to nugsnet.

Phil’s line-up for Dead Blues, a Pig Pen era themed show, was Luther Dickinson & Cody Dickinson, John Medeski, Roosevelt Collier, Junior Mack, Grahame Lesh, Danielle Nicole & Elliott Peck. Wow.

The party got started with a funky “Viola Lee Blues” and didn’t stop until over three hours later.

Listen to Dark Star Orchestra’s Old School Grateful Dead Set in Princeton – 5/14/2018 Full Show AUD

Dark Star Orchestra, perhaps one of the best and most faithful Grateful Dead cover bands, landed in Princeton, NJ earlier this week. DSO has made a name for themselves over the year by not only producing some of the finest musicians in the Dead/jam band scene, but also for recreating Grateful Dead shows song for song in their entirety.

DSO treated Princeton to an “old school” Dead show that included lots of rarities and old favorites including “Hard to Handle,” “Viola Lee Blues” and their namesake, “Dark Star.”
