Peter Frampton’s Finale Farewell Tour came to an end last night at Madison Square Garden in NYC. The British singer-guitarist, best known for his “Frampton Comes Alive” album, treated MSG to some early nineties grunge.

Frampton preceded his cover of Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun” with a story about how he was able to perform this song with Chris Cornell before he passed.

This instrumental cover is also included on Frampton’s Grammy Award Winning Instrumental album Fingerprints released in 2006.

Thanks to Jim Powers for the terrific footage of the cover!
