An epic 33-song Pearl Jam show, in Hawaii, in December with a “Yellow Ledbetter-Little Wing” encore—hard to beat that. Back in 2006, Pearl Jam trekked out to Honolulu for a tour stop and threw down one hell of a show.
Hours after opening with “Ocean,” Eddie Vedder and company cranked out a 9-song second encore that included Eddie playing the ukulele. Mike McCready took center stage at the end of the night with a monster-mashup of Pearl Jam’s “Yellow Leadbetter” and Jimi Hendrix’s classic “Little Wing.”
I’ve always felt that Yellow Ledbetter and Little Wing were guitar-masterpiece cousins. Crack open a beer & enjoy the two, together at last!
