Marcus King and Billy Strings, who each have their own band, teamed up for an intimate session at Carter Vintage Guitars in Nashville, TN. This isn’t the first time the pair have teamed up—at last year’s Rooster Walk, King and Strings was one of the highlights of the festival.
For this session, Billy played a ’36 000-28 and Marcus played a ’54 Telecaster. The duo tackled the timeless tune, “Summertime” with ease. Gershwin’s masterpiece from Porgy and Bess might be best known for the chilling Ella Fitzgerald version.
If you dig King and Strings, check them out at Rooster Walk this May for Kings and Strings 2.
Thanks to Carter Vintage Guitars for the great session!
