Musical pioneers and geniuses, Les Claypool and Sean Lennon recently teamed up for a new group, aptly named The Claypool Lennon Delirium. The two headed to Bonnaroo to show off their new creation last weekend. The strange, beautiful and haunting music is an acquired taste, but oddly alluring.
Les Claypool’s masterful bass work and Lennon’s experimental guitar exploration make for a great cover of the early Pink Floyd tune “Astronomy Domine.” The new group visited the SiriusXM studio for a live performance of the cover.
Les Claypool isn’t a stranger to cover Pink Floyd. One of my all-time favorite live set’s is Les Claypool’s Flying Frog Brigade covering Animals in full.
