At the Aspen Harmony Festival back in 1999, legendary Grateful Dead member Bob Weir’s Rat Dog shared a stage with Widespread Panic. During Panic’s set, Weir came out and jammed with the band for a few songs.
The first tune that Bob sat-in for was “Me And the Devil Blues.” Next Bob Weir and Ratdog band members Rob Wasserman and Jay Lane laid down a 25-minute cover of Curtis Mayfield’s “Pusherman” and took the jam to a whole other level. The cover turned into quite the jam in the second half of the song.
The end of the mini-set featured here courtesy of Panicstream features an awesome 12 minute percussion solo. Take the time to listen to this jam – it’s 45 minutes well spent.
