John Mayer is finishing up his world tour across the pond before he reunites with Dead and Company for their Fall Fun Run at MSG on Halloween.

On Wednesday, John Mayer celebrated his 40th birthday at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland. To kick off the second set, John emerged with an acoustic guitar and said “I’m just gonna play this one from the heart because it makes me happy.”

Mayer treated Dublin to a debut cover of the Bruce Springsteen classic “Tougher Than the Rest.” Mayer aced the tune and topped it off with a nice bit on the harmonica.
