Nearly 50 years ago, Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Miles and Billy Cox assembled at the Fillmore East in NYC as Band of Gypsys. Jimi’s NYE show and New Year’s Day at the Fillmore became the stuff of legends.

The two concerts have been given the royal treatment and released as a new 5 CD box set that includes 43 tracks including unreleased tracks. The name of the box set is Songs for Groovy Children: The Fillmore East Concerts and is streaming on your favorite streaming service now.

Jimi’s estate has released the incendiary “Ezy Ryder” from the second set of their NYE show on YouTube.

YouTube user hihats hits the nail of the head:”when time machines are a reality I’m setting the dates & coordinates for the fillmore east & band of gypsys.”

Thanks to Jimi Hendrix for the track!
