35 year old funk-rock superstars Red Hot Chili Peppers made an appearance at this years Silverlake Conservatory Of Music benefit concert and art show. All funds from the art and benefit concert support music education for Silverlake Conservatory Of Music scholarships and school funding.

No stranger to the Jimi Hendrix catalogue, RHCP debuted a new Jimi cover at the benefit concert. Watch as RHCP breathes new life into the 51 year old classic.

“Purple Haze” joins “Fire,” “Crosstown Traffic” and “Castles Made of Sand” as Jimi Hendrix covers RHCP have done. I for one, would be the first in line for a Jimi Hendrix cover album from RHCP.

Thanks to RHCP Live for the footage!
