The Grateful Dead have released the latest in their All The Years Live YouTube series and it’s a beauty. The latest footage comes from the Dead’s ’93 summer tour in Hebron, Ohio.
Tucked into the back half of the first set on June 11, 1993 Jerry lead the Dead in a rendition of “So Many Roads” that will give you all the emotions. While the Grateful Dead’s last recording of “So Many Roads” on July 9th, 1995 gets a lot of attention, there are a dozen other heart-wrenching versions of the late-era classic.
Grateful Dead archivist David Lemieux notes on the performance: “So Many Roads bounced around the setlist during its lifetime, sometimes appearing in the first set, sometimes the second. I always preferred it in this slot, the penultimate song of the first set before a rocking Weir song to close.”
Thanks to the Grateful Dead for the footage!
