After a drought of shows in December, the New Years Eve runs are finally here! Last night, Gov’t Mule got the action started on the East Coast with a show in Philly at The Met.
The Allman Betts Band opened for the Mule last night and stuck around for the main act. For the encore, Warren invited Duane Betts to the stage to finish the show in epic fashion—a tasty 16 minute “Whipping Post.” The Allman Brothers classic was the second ABB tune that the Mule covered of the night. Gov’t Mule played “Statesboro Blues” was played at the end of the second set with Barry Oakley Jr. and Captain Ron Holloway.
