The annual Gasparilla Music Festival invaded Tampa last weekend for the 8th time. The two day festival boasted an eclectic line-up ranging from rap to indie rock to country to blues and more.
Among the dozens of artists in the festival were two of the finest young guitarists on the scene today—Gary Clark Jr. and Lukas Nelson and his band Promise of the Real.
During Gary Clark Jr.’s set, Lukas Nelson made a surprise sit in on the old blues standard “Three O’Clock Blues.” Originally written by Lowell Fulson in 1946, the song was popularized by B.B. King in 1952. Clark and Nelson’s take on the slow 12-bar blues tune is must-listen.
Thanks to Warden June for the great footage!
