Phil Lesh and Friends played for a great cause in the Grate room at Terrapin Crossroads last night. Phil teamed up with Ross James, Scott Law, Alex Koford and Chris Gelbudawith for a night of Dead tunes to raise money for a local community park that is currently unsafe for children.
The Terrapin Crossroads website gives more details on the two-night benefit show run:
Albert Park, a park here in our community, is unsafe for our children. Needles are scattered throughout the lawns that once welcomed games of catch and tag.
The B Team has been working tirelessly to raise funds to kick off the project to clean up and create a magical space in Albert Park for local children to play, but they need our help.
Phil Lesh is committed to making the world a better and safer place for children. Please join him for two special shows to make a difference, all net proceeds from these shows will go to the B Team to help kick off this project.
Among the Dead tunes played last night, was a soaring “Eyes of the World” featuring a face-melting guitar solo courtesy of Ross James.
