John Mayer has new solo material out in 2017 and has announced a massive world-wide tour. Aside from sit-ins here and there, last night’s John Mayer Trio show in Albany really kicked off his 2017 tour.
The singer-song writer, turned blues virtuoso, turned deadhead played a little of everything last night. From hit singles like daughter, to searing blues tunes, there was something for every type of John Mayer fan last night. The tour is called “The Search for Everything” tour and features solo acoustic songs, full band tunes and blues songs via the trio.
John Mayer’s guitar playing is just mesmerizing. In addition to a searing cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “Power of Soul” jam, John also paid tribute to the late Chuck Berry with an awesome rendition of “Promised Land.”
