Bob Weir and Wolf Bros kicked off their second tour last night in Ithaca, NY. Weir, Don Was and Jay Lane have 19 cities on the tour that extends through the end of March. The inaugural tour which ended with two nights at the Beacon in NYC, shows love to some of the towns less traveled like Northampton and Cleveland.
The 71 year old Grateful Dead founding member kicked off the show with a fitting “The Music Never Stopped.” The first set featured a few rare and vintage Weir tunes like “Bombs Away” and “The Winners.”
Weir and Wolf Bros went heavy on the Dead in the second set with a 14-minute “Scarlet Begonias,” “Jack Straw,” and “The Other One” among other Grateful Dead classics. Bobby also crooned on a pair of Dylan tunes including “A Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall” and an “It’s All Over Now Baby Blue” encore.
