Charlie Starr, founding member and frontman of Blackberry Smoke, set up shop at The Foundry in Athens, Georgia last week for an intimate acoustic show. Starr was joined by a couple of friends including Benji Shanks and Levi Lowrey.
The acoustic set, while not a first for Starr, was definitely a change in direction from a traditional Blackberry Smoke. The set had tons of great covers that showcased not only Starr’s guitar prowess but also his vocal abilities.
Starr and Shanks’ covers included Neil Young, Led Zeppelin, the Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan and more.
