If you were to name two of the top guitarists in rock today, Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks would be in my top ten for sure. When I saw both joined the Larry McCray Band along with their former Allman Brother Band member Oteil Burbridge, I had to check out the show.
YouTube user MyinnerEyeMike has been sharing some choice recordings lately including a short but sweet set from the Larry McCray Band back in 2001. Larry and his band set up shop at Buddy Guy’s Legends in Chicago.
Four songs into the set, Warren and Derek joined Larry and his band for a couple of tunes including the Allman Brothers Band’s tune “Soulshine.” Oteil swapped spots with Derek Trucks for the last pair of tunes in the set.
