Central Park’s Summerstage is usually buzzing with a who’s who line-up of musicians in the summer. With COVID, the stage was silent this summer, but the park staged a virtual event entitled Summerstage Jubliee 2020 to share a little bit of the magic that usually happens on their stage.
The line-up for Summerstage Jubilee was impressive and boasted stars like Sting and Norah Jones. The festival also included two acoustic songs from Phish frontman Trey Anastasio.
Before Trey’s performance, he shared some memories of Summerstage which is literally a walk from his apartment. Trey remembered the time he was seeing Arcade Fire at Summerstage when legendary rock icon David Bowie made a surprise appearance.
For his two songs, Trey treated everyone to acoustic versions of “Everything’s Right” and “More.”
