DelFest, as all festivals this season, has been a casualty of COVID-19. Personally curated by Del McCoury, DelFest is always a great way to break in the festival season. Luckily, the festival promoters have decided to go digital this year and curated some great sets from years-past.

Last night, nugs.net aired the Marcus King Band’s set from 2019’s DelFest. The set featured searing covers of Chicago’s “25 or 6 to 4” and Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs.”

The Marcus King Band’s summer tour is in full swing. This past weekend, MKB landed at Paper Mill Island in Upstate New York.

King and his band treated Baldwinsville to a nearly two hour set filled with killer covers. The performance coincided with the 50th anniversary of the final day of Woodstock. MKB’s covers honored some of the amazing performances at the landmark festival including Santana’s “Soul Sacrifice.” Other covers included The Grateful Dead’s “Fire On The Mountain,” CSNY’s “Ohio” with a Jimi Hendrix’s “Machine Gun,” and more.

Listen to Marcus King Band Conquer the Brooklyn Bowl – 6/6/2019 AUD

The Marcus King Band put together a three night run at the Brooklyn Bowl at the beginning of June. Due to demand, King added a third night to the originally scheduled two nights in BK.

The second of the three shows showcased MKB at the top of their game. In addition to original tunes, King treated NYC to a handful of covers including Chicago’s “25 or 6 to 4,” the Grateful Dead’s “Fire on the Mountain” and many more.

Jamie McLean who opened with his band, joined King and his crew for the encore song “This Is Your Last Song.”

Listen to Marcus King Band Cover Allman Brothers Band and Marshall Tucker Band in Dallas – 5/8/2019 AUD

The Marcus King Band did two shows in the Lonestar State last week before heading off to California. On Wednesday, the landed at the Granada Theater in Dallas.

The set included plenty of originals with a few covers. During the set MKB covered arguably the three of the four horsemen of southern rock—The Marshall Tucker Band, Mountain and of course, The Allman Brothers Band (Skynyrd being the fourth.)

King chose an ABB tune not often covered and enlisted Gabriel Kelley on Harmonica to help out for a blazing “Don’t Keep Me Wondering.”

The Marcus King Band’s fall tour brought them through Pittsburgh last week with a stop at Club AE. MKB packed the tiny 400 person venue and didn’t disappoint.
