Dead and Company is back with another installment of their YouTube concert series One More Saturday Night. The latest footage is from their 2020 Playing in the Sand show from Sunday evening. The selection is a head nod to the recent news that Dead and Company will be returning to Mexico in January 2022 for Playing in the Sand.

Dead & Co’s finale at Grand Moon Palace featured a stacked setlist with a lot of heavy hitters.

Watch Phil Lesh and The Terrapin Family Band’s Hebrew Version of “Samson and Delilah”

While Phil and Friends’ shows at Terrapin Crossroads’ Backyard have been sidelined due to the California lockdowns, Phil was still able to share some Hanukkah cheer.

A few days ago, The Terrapin Family Band banded together with Phil Lesh and Mark Levy for a very special version of the Grateful Dead classic “Samson & Delilah.” Hats off to Grahame Lesh, Ross James and Elliot Peck for the Hebrew vocals!

Our next stop on the We Will Get By Streaming Tour brings us to the summer of 1982. One of the Dead’s more underrated tours, summer tour 1982 started off on the West Coast in mid-July and stopped in Morrison, CO for three nights before touring the mid-west.

Tonight’s concert is from the third and final show of the run at Red Rocks. Check out the slower and beautiful “Friend of the Devil” in the first set as well as “Loser.” The second set “Crazy Fingers” is fantastic and flows into a rocking “I Need a Miracle.”

Listen to the Grateful Dead Deliver a “Comes a Time” for the Ages on This Day in 1976 – 7/17/1976 Soundboard

Our next stop on the We Will Get By Streaming Tour brings us back to the summer of 76. The Grateful Dead continued their six night run at the Orpheum on this day in 1976 with their penultimate show of their run in San Francisco.

This show has many memorable moments, but the standout is the second set “Comes a Time.” The version ranks among the best the Dead have delivered over their 30 year tenure. The extended jam gives way to “Drums” and then the rumble of “The Other One.”
