In-between Phish’s summer and fall tours, Trey Anastasio Band is fitting in a 13 show on the East Coast. TAB got the party started in Portland, ME at Thompson’s Point.

Trey kicked off the first set with a smokin’ “First Tube” and never looked back. Also check out the extended jam on “Everything’s Right” and “The Moma Dance” in the second set.

Listen to Phish Return to the Stage for their First Show in Arkansas – 7/28/2021 AUD

After an unbearably long hiatus from touring due to COVID, Phish returned to the stage for the first time in 521 days. While the band has been gracious with Dinner and Movie nights, a new album and performances from Trey abound, nothing beats the real deal.

Speaking of Trey’s prodigious pandemic output, Phish started the first set with debuting one of Trey’s quarantine tunes “I Never Needed You Like This Before.” This tour opener in Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion marked the bands debut in Arkansas as well.

Listen to Trey Anastasio Band’s Tour Finale in New Orleans – 2/1/2020 AUD

Trey Anastasio Band’s winter tour came to an end this past weekend in New Orleans. TAB played a pair of gigs in the Big Easy at the Civic Theater on Friday and Saturday.

TAB jammed on TAB originals, Trey tunes and Phish tunes on Saturday night. Trey also busted out a cover of the Dire Straight’s classic “Sultans of Swing” to close out the second set.

Trey’s next gig is the first of a string of Oysterhead reunion shows.

Listen to Trey Anastasio Band’s Funky Show at The Van Buren – 1/21/2020 AUD

Trey Anastasio Band has made their way west from the Capitol Theatre where they kicked off their winter 2020 tour. While the West Coast usually gets snubbed on Phish summer tour, the newly announced Summer 2020 tour shows love to the left coast. Arizona isn’t on the tour, however Trey has shown the 48th state some love the last couple of years with a solo stop and this past week a Trey Anastasio Band gig at The Van Buren in Phoenix.

Trey treated AZ to a killer setlist that included plenty of TAB originals and Phish classic like “Heavy Things” and “Camel Walk.” TAB even went a capella mode on “Brief Time” and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”

Watch Trey Anastasio Ring in 2020 with “Rescue Squad” as he is Saved from MSG Stage Malfunction – 12/31/2019 AUD

Phish took the stage for the final time last night at MSG. With the previous night’s show firmly planted as the second highest rated Phish show of all time on Phish.net, the boys would have to pull out all the stops to satiate the Phans at MSG.

The first two rockin’ sets included all the favorites that Phish had yet to play in the previous three nights such as “Fluffhead,” “Maze,” “Wolfman’s Brother,” and “Possum.” Towards the end of the first set, Phish picked up the story from the night before and welcomed flautist Richard Glasgow to join in the fun.

For the third set, Phish revealed their NYE gag—clones of themselves singing and dancing to “Send in the Clowns” (Send in the Clones.) While the clones were dancing, the band was elevated on stages that moved independently of each other. Despite the gag being over, Trey’s platform seemed to have malfunctioned. For the remainder of the third set, Trey was stuck 30+ feet above the stage, but played and jammed with the band as if he was standing next to the them.

While Trey was stuck suspended above the stage and his band members, they jammed through “Sand,” “Drift While You’re Sleeping,” and “You Enjoy Myself.” Phish has performed YEM 615 times during their careers, but never with Trey suspended 30 feet above the stage and away from Fish, Gordon and Page.

MSG got the “Tweezer Reprise” they were promised from the monster “Tweezer” the evening before. After “Tweezer Reprise,” two stagehands used Fishman’s elevated platform to rescue Trey from his platform. During the rescue, Trey improved a song titled “Rescue Squad.” It’s one of those moments you have to see to believe.
