An interesting bootleg and interview from Jimi Hendrix recently surfaced on YouTube. Just two weeks before his untimely passing, Jimi Hendrix was in Berlin on tour.

Excerpts from a backstage interview and his show that evening were shared recently by YouTube user carlygtr.

First Listen: Jimi Hendrix’s Unreleased “Izabella / Machine Gun” Demo in NYC

The Jimi Hendrix estate continues to share unreleased gems on his YouTube channel. The latest comes from late December, 1969.

Ahead of their historic New Years Eve four-night run at the Fillmore East in 1969, Jimi, Buddy Miles and Billy Cox rehearsed at the Baggy Studios in NYC. Parts of those rehearsals have since been released as the JIMI HENDRIX: THE BAGGY’S REHEARSAL SESSIONS way back in 2002. Hendrix’s YouTube channel unearthed an unreleased demo from the session of “Izabella / Machine Gun.”

Listen to One of Jimi Hendrix’s Final Shows in Copenhagen ’70 – 9/3/1970 AUD

The Jimi Hendrix has released another vintage recording from the vault on their YouTube page. The recording comes from Jimi’s concert in Copenhagen, Denmark on this day 51 years ago.

As with the previous recording, the quality on this is a bit rough, but showcases Jimi at the height of his career. Unfortunately Jimi Hendrix would pass just 15 days after this show.

The Experience’s lineup in Copenhagen included Mitch Mitchell on drums and Billy Cox on bass. The setlist included plenty of Jimi’s earlier classics as well as some of the more recent material like “Hey Baby,” “Machine Gun,” and “Ezy Ryder.”

Jimi Hendrix’s YouTube channel has released another recording from the archive. 51 years ago today, Jimi Hendrix, Mitch Mitchell & Billy Cox rolled into Baltimore Civic Center, just four months before Jimi would pass away.

The recording, while a rough audience recording, gives a glimpse into the straight fire that Jimi was capable of. The show features some newer tunes such as “Machine Gun,” and “Ezy Rider.”

Listen to the Jimi Hendrix Experience Rock Philadelphia on This Date 51 Years Ago – 5/16/1970 AUD

The Jimi Hendrix YouTube channel had a rare and welcomed surprise today—a near complete bootleg from this day back in 1970. Just a few months before his tragic death, Jimi was touring with a new line-up that featured Billy Cox on bass and some new tunes in his repertoire.

It’s a crime that tunes like the chilling “Machine Gun” only have a handful of recordings. In addition to his late-career material, Jimi also jams on classics like “Red House” and “Voodoo Child (Slight Return.)”
