Widespread Panic finished up a three night run at the legendary Capitol Theater in Port Chester, NY on Sunday.

WSP treated the Cap to over thirty tunes including a massive encore. The show not including the set break clocks in at nearly three hours.

Among the tunes they were a good selection of covers including Talking Heads’ “Life During Wartime,” Grateful Dead’s “The Other One” and Traffic’s “Low Spark Of High-Heeled Boys.”

Listen to Pink Talking Fish Play the Ultimate Wedding Show – 6/10/2018 Full Show AUD

Pink Talking Fish, the Pink Floyd, Talking Heads and Phish tribute band played a private gig this past weekend—Raina & Brandon Davis’s wedding in Livingston, NJ.

The newly wedded couple and their closest friends and family were treated to PTF playing not one, not two, but three sets and an encore of Floyd, Talking Heads and Phish tunes. Best. Wedding. Band. Ever.

The show even included some special guests like the Turkuaz Horns. PTF snuck in a Hora Dance (a Jewish wedding staple) during “Scent Of A Mule>Avenu Malkenu>Scent Of A Mule.” PTF extended their repertoire to include Prince, Ween, David Bowie, Grateful Dead and more for the wedding.

Thankfully the incomparable Keith Litzenberger was on hand to grab a soundboard recording of the whole show!

Listen to Taz and Marcus King Join Widespread Panic at the Peach Festival – 8/12/2017 Full Show AUD

The Peach Festival barreled into it’s third day atop montage mountain in Scranton, PA. Saturday’s lineup was arguably the most formidable with sets from Gov’t Mule featuring John Scofield, an all-star tribute to Gregg Allman, two sets from Umphrey’s McGee, Marcus King and the legendary Widespread Panic. Panic’s headlining set last night was the first of two sets they will play at the Peach with the second one coming tonight.

It’s been a while wince WSP has joined forces on stage. Lead guitarist Jimmy Herring has taken his new band, The Invisible Whip, out on the road for a stretch of dates. The other members of Panic have been keeping busy as well. John Bell was recently spotted at Red Rocks with Tedeschi Trucks Band and drummer Duane Trucks visited Red Rocks a week late for Jerry Garcia’s 75th birthday celebration.

A rollicking “Henry Parsons Died” kicked off the kick-ass set from WSP. A few tracks later, Jimmy and WSP ripped into the ZZ Top classic “Jesus Just Left Chicago,” which a regular in Panic live sets.

On the second half of the set, WSP welcomed guitar prodigy Brandon “Taz” Niederauer for a blistering “Surprise Valley.” The last time Taz shared the stage with a lot of WSP members, was at Colonel Bruce Hampton’s fateful 70th birthday celebration show. It’s a treat to listen to Jimmy and Brandon jamming together on stage.

The next up and coming guitar slinger to hit the stage was Marc King. King is just a handful of years older than Taz and has the makings of a future guitar legend. Marcus sat in for “Me and the Devil Blues” and the Talking Heads cover “Life During Wartime.”

Watch Widespread Panic’s Smoking “Life During Wartime” in the Dominican Republic

Panic en la Playa is Widespread Panic’s annual pilgrimage to paradise. While most of the US is still dealing with winter, the Hard Rock Hotel Casino in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic is being rocked, hard by Widespread Panic.

Check out this funky, smoking cover of the Talking Heads classic “Life During Wartime” that capped off an incredible 26-song show.

I don’t care if it’s 100+ degrees out, it’s always time for Panic en la Playa!

Instant Classic: Watch Widespread Panic Bring Down the House with “Greta” into “Life During Wartime”

Widespread Panic’s summer tour stopped in Oakland at the Fox Theater last week. To end their first set, WSP launched into their classic tune Greta which transitioned into a wicked cover of the Talking Head’s “Life During Wartime.” What a scorcher!

Life During Wartime starts at the 7:10 mark.
