Watch Bob Weir’s Majestic Cover of Neil Young’s “Down By The River” in Syracuse – 11/8/2018 Full Show AUD

Bob Weir and the Wolf Bros are in the homestretch of their inaugural tour. Weir showed Syracuse some love and played a pair of sets with a unique guest last night at the Landmark Theater.

Mikaela Davis, harpist and indie-rocker from Rochester, NY sat-in for six songs during the set. At the end of the first set, Davis came out for “Bird Song” and then at the end of the second set for a beautiful “Wharf Rat > China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider.”

Mikaela joined Bob, Jay and Don for the encore as well. The first encore was an ethereal take on Neil Young’s “Down By The River” that Davis took the driver’s seat on. This may be the first time Bob has covered the Neil Young classic.

Watch Phil Lesh and Friends’ ‘Dead Blues’ at Terrapin Crossroads – 6/8/2018 Full Show Video

After the Dead and Company played their “Johnny B. Goode” encore in Atlanta, the fun was just getting started on the west coast. Phil Lesh and a stellar group of friends played a gig titled ‘Dead Blues’ at Terrapin Crossroads which was streamed for free thanks to nugsnet.

Phil’s line-up for Dead Blues, a Pig Pen era themed show, was Luther Dickinson & Cody Dickinson, John Medeski, Roosevelt Collier, Junior Mack, Grahame Lesh, Danielle Nicole & Elliott Peck. Wow.

The party got started with a funky “Viola Lee Blues” and didn’t stop until over three hours later.

Listen to Dead and Co Treat Camden to Debuts – 6/1/2018 Full Show AUD

Dead and Company landed in Camden, NJ for the first of two shows last night after they kicked off their tour in Mansfield, MA.

After four years under their belt, Weir, Mayer and the rest of the boys showed they still had a couple of tricks up their sleeves. Camden was treated to two debuts on night one, one in each set. The first set included Dead and Co’s first ever “Jack-A-Roe” and the second set included a cover of Paul Simon’s “Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes.”

Also noteworthy about Dead and Co’s setlist last night was that they started the first set with “Jack Straw” and ended the set with a “Jack Straw Reprise.” The second set started with “Not Fade Away” and ended with “Not Fade Away.” Two delicious sandwiches, but who are we kidding – we’re still hungry for more!

Listen to North Mississippi Allstars Jam-Packed Wanee Set – 4/20/2018 Full Show AUD

Wanee may have been a few weeks ago, but the recordings continue to pour in. The latest, courtesy of Z-Man, is the guest-galore North Mississippi Allstars set.

While sit-ins are the norm at Wanee, NMA’s set was a special treat. Luther and the crew welcomed six guests over the course of their set to sit in on a variety of originals and covers. With a sit-in on “All Night Long > Turn On Your Lovelight,” JoJo Herman of Widespread Panic on keyboards and Jack Ryan of Marcus King Band on drums were the first to guests of the set.

Other highlights include Grahame Lesh and Jason Crosby on a couple of familiar tunes including “Deep Elem Blues” and “Goin’ Down The Road Feelin’ Bad,” Marcus King lending his talents to “Crossroads” and finally the “We Bid You Goodnight” encore with tons of Tom Petty references.

Listen to Weir, Lesh, Campbell and Williams Serenade Boston – 3/7/2018 Full Show AUD

Bobby and Phil continued their Duo tour in Boston at the Wang Theater, despite the impending Nor’easter. The show was the first of two the Duo will play in Boston before heading to Chicago for their final two dates.

Set one was all Bob and Phil with help from Wally Ingram on percussion. The stripped down format really allows Bob and Phil to strut their capabilities both on their instruments and with their voices. While Phil’s voice may hit some people the wrong way, I think it’s a perfect fit on songs like “Bird Song.”

Phil and Bob welcomed a couple of guests in the second set as they had at Radio City Music Hall. Journeyman and Phil Lesh and Friends member, Larry Campbell joined the duo to start the second set and add in his vocals, guitar and mandolin to the mix. Teresa Williams (Larry Campbell’s better half), joined for the second set as well and added her beautiful vocals.
