Phish is back with their 11th installment of Dinner and Movie on YouTube tonight. This selection from their 2013 summer tour was originally supposed to air last Tuesday, but Phish postponed the stream and stood with musicians across the globe in solidarity with the black community as part of #BlackoutTuesday.
This show from the Gorge was one of 25 summer tour dates that Phish had on their itinerary in 2013. This selection is full of surprises including some rarities, an homage to Seattle Seahawks then rookie QB Russel Wilson, and covers of Skynyrd, Talking Heads and Jimi Hendrix. Oh and it was Phish lighting genius Chris Kuroda’s birthday. Yes, this is not a show to be missed!
Set One: AC/DC Bag > Timber (Jerry The Mule), Wolfman’s Brother, Funky Bitch, Happy Birthday to You, Wilson > Possum, Tube, Secret Smile, McGrupp and the Watchful Hosemasters > The Ballad of Curtis Loew, Split Open and Melt
Set Two: Crosseyed and Painless > Twist > Steam > Waves -> Twenty Years Later > The Mango Song > Bug > David Bowie, Rocky Top > Character Zero[1]
Encore: Harry Hood > Fire[2]
[1] Band members howled at the moon.
[2] Alternate lyrics “Move over rover and let Jon Fishman take over!”
Thanks to Phish for the stream!
