The Grateful Dead’s influence on Phish is undeniable and with Trey’s inclusion in Fare Thee Well, their histories will be forever linked. Trey and Mike have played with Phil Lesh and Friends and other variations of the Dead post Jerry’s Death in 1995 as well.

Three years after Jerry’s passing on 8/9/1995, Trey and the rest of Phish took the opportunity to pay tribute to the Garcia at their show in Virginia Beach. The “Terrapin Station” cover was a Phish debut and the only time they have played the tune. The Grateful Dead encore put an exclamation show on an already monster show.
