Gov’t Mule and Blackberry continued their Smokin’ Mule tour in Saratoga, CA last Tuesday. As they had done at every show this tour, Mule welcomed Charlie Starr for a couple of classic encore covers.
Mule’s set was chalked full of classic Mule tunes like “Banks of the Deep End”, “No Need to Suffer” and “Thorazine Shuffle” as well as a boatload of covers including songs by ZZ Top, Led Zeppelin, Ray Charles and more.
This night’s selection included a rare “Danger Bird” – only the fourth time Gov’t Mule has ever covered the Neil Young tune. Mule and Starr also covered Al Green’s “Take Me To The River” which is right in Warren’s wheelhouse.
