The Grateful Dead’s latest All These Years Live YouTube series release comes from the summer of ’87 – one of the Dead’s most historic tours. Dylan and the Dead made their way from the East Coast to the West over six dates. The format of the shows included two sets from the Grateful Dead and then a 90 minute set from Dylan, with the Dead filling in as his backup band.
The last stop in the tour was at Anaheim Stadium in Southern California. During the second set, the Dead delivered an amazing “Terrapin Station” that was tucked into a knock-out set including “Shakedown Street,” “The Other One” and “Stella Blue.”
Here is what Grateful Dead archivist David Lemieux had to say about the performance: “From the final night of the Dylan & the Dead Tour, this wonderful Terrapin Station shows that after a long tour that started at Alpine exactly a month earlier, the Dead could always rise to the occasion of a stadium filled with hungry Dead Heads, this one in Orange County. Spending a day with Disney, Dylan and the Dead sounds pretty darn great.”
Thanks to the Grateful Dead for the great footage!
