Marcus King Band’s 3rd Annual Family Band Reunion took over Black Mountain, NC on the last weekend of September. In addition to two sets of MKB, the two day festivals brought Jason Isbell, Yonder Mountain String Band and about a dozen other acts to Pisgah Brewing Company.

During Yonder Mountain String Band’s set on Saturday, Marcus King joined the band halfway through their set for a sprawling cover of “Jolene.” The often covered Dolly Parton classic was recorded 45 years ago back in 1974. MK and YMSB stretch the tune into a 14 minute jam.

Thanks to Gordon Wilson for the recording and photo.
