Watch two rock legends and co-founders of Farm Aid perform the Neil Young original “Heart of Gold” at the 10th Farm Aid concert back in 1995. The song came in the middle of Young’s 9-song set.
While Willie pretty much just plays rhythm during the song and even waves to some elderly lady on some guys shoulders, he still adds serious cool points to the performance.
The 1995 Farm Aid concert was in Louisville, Kentucky on October 1st with 47,000 in attendance.
Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews (who was also performed at the ’95 Farm Aid) joined Farm Aid’s board of directors in 2001.
