Jack White and Third Man records have been busy digging up vintage White Stripes recordings and sharing them on YouTube and other channels. This treasure trove of footage and audio coincides with the release of their massive Greatest Hits album.

Saturday Night Live’s YouTube channel released footage from the White Stripes one and only performance on the iconic late night show. Jack and Meg White joined John McCain on SNL back on October 19, 2002. The Stripes played a pair of songs including the hard-rocking, gritty “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground.” Jack’s volatile guitar combined with Meg’s banging beats make for an explosive performance. The Stripes follow up the nasty guitar licks of “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground” with the gentle, melodic “We’re Going to Be Friends.”

Thanks to SNL for the great footage!
