The Grateful Dead have returned to YouTube with another installment of All the Years Live. With Halloween weekend upon us, it’s only fitting that the Dead would release footage from their Halloween show from 1980.
On October 31st, the Dead performed their 8th and final show of a massive run at Radio City Music Hall in NYC. Coming out of “Space,” the Dead played a rare “Fire on the Mountain” that wasn’t preceded by “Scarlet Begonias.” Here is what Grateful Dead archivist David Lemieux notes about the performance, “A very rare Fire On The Mountain that was not preceded by Scarlet Begonias, this fine rendition, a standout performance from both Dead Set and Dead Ahead, this one comes out of Space incredible smoothly, and is one of the cooler transitions you’ll hear out Space.”
Thanks to the Grateful Dead for the footage!
