Watch Bob Weir and Wolf Bros’ Brilliant “Black Throated Wind” at TRI Studios

Bob Weir and Wolf Bros, along with some more friends returned to TRI Studios for another stream earlier this week. While the first show of the year celebrated Chinese New Year, Bobby and the boys celebrated St. Patrick’s Day.

Among the covers and Dead classics in the set, was “Black Throated Wind.” At 73 years young, Bobby is sounding great!

Watch Bob Weir and Wolf Bros’ “Playin in the Band > Uncle John’s Band > Playin in the Band” at TRI Studios

More footage from Bob Weir’s Chinese New Year show has surfaced recently on YouTube. One of the rare live-stream shows from Bobby featured Wolf Bros with some added friends like Dead and Company bandmate Jeff Chimenti.

During the set, Bob welcomed a classical accompaniment during “Playing in the Band > Uncle John’s Band > Playing in the Band.” The 23+ minute jam featured Sheldon Brown on clarinet, Alex Kelly on cello, Brian Switzer on trumpet, Adam Theis on trombone, and Mads Tolling on violin.

Bobby is returning to TRI studios with a similar line-up tomorrow to celebrate St. Patty’s day with another livestream.

Watch Bob Weir and Wolf Bros Cover Jerry Garcia’s “Mission in the Rain” at TRI Studios

Bob Weir hinted in the fall that his TRI Studios would be getting more use in the coming months. After his New Year’s Eve gig, Weir assembled his Wolf Pack or rather his Wolf Bros for another show to celebrate the Chinese New Year last night.

Weir was joined by Don Was, Jay Lane, Jeff Chimenti + Greg Leisz, with special guests The Wolf Pack for the special live-streamed gig. While there was in-person attendance, the TRI team set up live feeds of fans dancing in front of the band to give a taste of that band-fan interaction.

In addition to the sneak-peek that Relix shared, Danceintank captured Bobby covering Jerry Garcia’s “Mission in the Rain.”

Thanks again to Bobby for the stream and here’s hoping we see more Bobby and TRI Studio shows in the future. At the end of the sneak peek, Bobby apologized for the shortcomings with the digital fan wall but said the issues will be fixed next time!

Watch Bob Weir and the Lame Ducks Perform at TRI Studios for Georgia Comes Alive

Live for Live Music has continued to release gems from their Georgia Comes Alive virtual one day festival from December 26th. The latest footage features none-other than Grateful Dead founding member Bob Weir.

Bobby has been absent from many of the streams and virtual festivals this year. Bob broke his hibernation to help Georgians get out and vote in the Senate run-off election. Bob assembled the aptly named Lame Ducks at his TRI Studios in Northern California. The Lame Ducks have a lot of familiar faces including Dave Schools, Jeff Chimenti, and Jay Lane.

The time off look like it agreed with Bobby. Weir looked healthy, sounded great and his tone fit beautifully with the band. The Lame Ducks debut set featured, you guessed it—songs by the Good Ol’ Grateful Dead.

Bob was joined just a few nights later at TRI Studios for a New Year’s Eve gig. Let’s hope this is the beginning of many more TRI performances from Bobby and friends!
