Railroad Earth is a roots, American newgrass band that have been swinging and swooning audiences since 2001. Their influences go further then bluegrass and extend into rock, jazz, celtic and more, all weaved together with an incredible knack for improvisation.

Railroad’s latest gigs were in the sleepy town of Stroudsburg, PA, located in eastern, PA. Railroad Earth put on a pair of gigs entitled “Horn O’ Plenty” featuring various guests each of the nights.

To close out the two nights, Railroad Earth busted out a majestic cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Terrapin Station.” The mix of acoustic and string instruments in the band give the grand tune a precious and wondrous quality.

Thanks to tomp99 for the great recording. Check out the rest of the show.
