Watch Spafford’s Sultry Cover of “West L.A. Fadeaway” at Relix Studios

Relix has been hosting a variety of acts at their studios for sessions this winter and spring. The acts have amounted to an eclectic playlist, mainly focused on covering the good ol’ Grateful Dead.

The latest artist to stop at the studios is Spafford. The Arizona-based jam band gave their own taste of the Dead classic “West L.A. Fadeaway.”

One of my favorite guitarists, Eric Krasno stopped by the Relix Studios recently for a tasty hour long set. Joining Krasno was Ben Marino, Eric Finnland, and James Casey.

Among the tunes Krasno jammed on were Jerry Garcia’s “Deal” and Bob Dylan’s “The Man in Me.”

Watch Circles Around the Sun’s Set at Relix Studios – 8/26/2021 Video

Despite Neal Casal passing away over two years ago, his creation Circles Around the Sun has soldiered on. The band not only has continued to tour, but has also released new music.

Scott Metzger and Eric Krasno were two of the guest guitarists in a post-Casal CATS before the band landed on John Lee Shannon as the new guitarist for their fall tour. The band stopped by Relix studios at the end of August to share some newer tunes and old jams.
