Willie Nelson at just 86 years young, is still going strong. He recently visited Frost Amphitheater for a show with his son, Lukas and his band The Promise of the Real.
Among the many classics they played was the blues standard “Texas Flood.” The tune was first recorded by Larry Davis in 1953 and then thrusted into the spotlight by Stevie Ray Vaughan on his 1983 album with the same name.
While Willie and harmonica player Mickey Raphael take their turn soloing, Lukas’ soaring guitar works wins the day.
