Widespread Panic busted out a rocking “For What It’s Worth” at the Fox Theater in Oakland a couple of weeks ago. Luckily Lazy Lightning was there to capture the footage and show “everybody look what’s going down.”
“For What It’s Worth” was originally released in 1966 by Buffalo Springfield. The song is steeped in political commentary that is eerily relevant today. These lyrics could be from a song about 2016:
There’s battle lines being drawn
Nobody’s right if everybody’s wrong
Young people speaking their minds
Getting so much resistance from behind
John Bell really rocks the vocals and listen to Jimmy Herring take the guitar solos to a new level.
Thanks again to Lazy Lightning for the great 4k footage.
