The title of this post is utterly ridiculous given that Jam Buzz is a live music blog. So why is a band performing in front of a live crowd so remarkable? Because it hasn’t happened in months.
The Flaming Lips, the eclectic rock band hailing from Oklahoma City, returned to the stage for a unique performance. Lead singer Wayne Coyne has performed in a bubble on stage before. Last night, the entire band played in gigantic plastic bubbles to a crowd of fans in plastic bubbles for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. In any other time in history, this would just be strange. In June of 2020, this might be a glimmer of hope for concert goers. Strange times indeed.
The Flaming Lips played “Race For the Prize” from their acclaimed album 1999 release The Soft Bulletin.”
Thanks to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert for making this happen!
