Warren Haynes, in between tours with Gov’t Mule has done some unique shows and collaborations this summer. He started with a run of solo shows in late July that kicked off with two shows at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center in Westhampton, NY.

The two solo shows were unique and incredible. The second show included a ton of Haynes originals crafted throughout his 30+ year career and a great selection of covers.

Some of the covers included Van Morrison’s “Cypress Avenue,” Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” Grateful Dead’s “China Doll” and the Allman Brothers Band’s “Melissa.”

Listen to Warren Haynes’ Magnificent Performance with Asheville Symphony and Friends – 3/17/2019 AUD

Warren Haynes, often referred to as the hardest working man in Rock, put a solo date on the calendar a few months back before heading out on the road with Gov’t Mule. What was special about this date was that it was with the Asheville Symphony and was a career-spanning tribute to all of the bands he played with and music he wrote.

The response to the first Dreams and Songs: A Symphonic Journey was so strong, that Warren Haynes put a second performance on the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium schedule.

The second of the two performances opened with Mule’s recent heartfelt tune, “Dreams and Songs Part 1” that segued into the Allman Brothers Bands’ classic “Dreams.” The rest of the two symphonic sets went much of the same way, weaving the music of Gov’t Mule, Allman Brothers Band, Grateful Dead and others together.

After the two symphonic sets, Warren jammed with his band sans-symphony for a third little set. Warren’s line-up included John Medeski on keys, Jasmine Mohammad on vocals, Edwin McCain on vocals, Greg Osby on sax, Jeff Sipe on drums and Oteil Burbridge on bass.

Gov’t Mule continued their massive tour this summer and fall with a monster show at Red Rocks last night. The Mule reprised their Dark Side of the Mule for one of their three sets for the final time this summer.

Listen to Phil Lesh, Warren Haynes, Eric Krasno & Friends Full 5/27/2016 Show at The Capitol

My modern day guitar heroes, Warren Haynes and Eric Krasno met just last month for a smokin’ Deal at Wanee. This weekend they have teamed up with Phil Lesh, John Medeski, Tony Leone and Alex Koford for a run at the Capitol Theater.

Thanks to Quinfolk, we have the first night’s show in it’s entirety. From the opening 15 minute-Franklin’s Tower jam to the GDTRFB encore, you’ll be up on your feet for the whole show! In addition to Dead classics like St. Stephen and Stella Blue, the Friends mix in a couple of covers that Warren isn’t a stranger to like Blue Sky and The Weight.
