Gov’t Mule’s spring tour is heating up as they head down south. The Mule just wrapped up a two night stand at the Georgia Theater in Athens, Georgia.

Harkening back to their shows decades ago at the Georgia Theater, Mule laid down a good mix of new and classic Mule. While I’m a fan of the new Mule tunes, it’s hard to beat Warren and company jamming on “Game Face.”

Halloween came a little early this year for Gov’t Mule. The Mule threw it’s annual Mule-O-Ween Halloween celebration this past Saturday in Atlanta at The Tabernacle.

As in years past, Gov’t Mule donned a musical costume for it’s halloween celebration. This year Black Sabbath got the Mule treatment.

After a solid set of Mule, Warren and company dove headfirst into the Black Sabbath material in the second set. The Sabbath continued into the encore that included a Mule speciality “Sweat Leaf.”

First Listen: Gov’t Mule and Friends Cover Radiohead, Hendrix, Young, The Beatles and More in Jamaica – 1/14/2017 Full Show AUD

The Island Exodus may be nearly four months behind us, but a new recording of the star-studded show just popped up on the boards. Gov’t Mule’s annual pilgrimage to Jamaica is usually their first show(s) of the year after their run at the Beacon and in classic Mule fashion, include a lot of sit ins and epic covers.

Mule’s show on January 14th was especially juicy if no other reason than they were joined by six guests from four different bands throughout the evening. Warren and the boys welcomed Ron Holloway, Neal Evans, Nicki Bluhm, Eric Krasno, Jack Ryan and Marcus King to the stage for the majority of the second set.

The first set is no slouch either. Mule busts out the Radiohead “Creep” cover among others and ends the set with an epic “Masters Of War > Rocking In The Free World > Machine Gun (Instrumental) > Rocking In The Free World”

The setlist speaks for itself. This one is a barn-burner!

Listen to Gov’t Mule and Blackberry Smoke’s Blissful “Sugaree > Soulshine” Encore at the Saranac Brewery

Gov’t Mule’s stop in Utica on Tuesday didn’t go exactly according to plan. After Blackberry Smoke’s set, the storm clouds rolled in. Everyone was urged to go back to their car and seek shelter until the storm passed. Two hours later at 10:15 PM, Mule took the stage and threw down an hour and half set filled with Beatles, Pink Floyd and Bob Marley covers.

Warren welcomed Charlie Starr & Brandon Still yet again for another encore. This time, Utica was treated to a Sugaree with a beautiful keyboard solo and Warren’s signature song, Soulshine.
