For Taper’s Tuesday, Peter Costello and Eric McRoberts released an ultra-mix of a soundboard and two audience recordings from JRAD’s second of a two-show run at the Cap on July 22. The first show was a doozy.
The second show opened with a happy birthday to the JRAD keyboardist, Marco Benevento. Benvento celebrated the 40 year milestone in style with one of the hottest bands on the circuit today.
Some of the highlights from the first set include the bluesy jam in “Cumberland Jam” and a bust out of “I Need a Miracle,” which JRAD hadn’t played since March of 2016. JRAD also debuted a Benevento Russo Duo original, “Play, Pause, Stop” in the first set.
The second set included a monster Marco Benevento keyboard solo on “Cassidy” and a slew of teases and jams. See if you can spot the “Sweet Home Alabama” bust out in “Werewolves Of London” encore.
Jonesin’ for another JRAD show? Joe and his Almost Dead will be kicking off the festivities at the Peach Festival tonight!
