Watch Bob Weir Join Dark Star Orchestra for Set Closing “Morning Dew” in San Francisco

Dark Star Orchestra finished up their two night stand at the Warfield in San Francisco last night. Halfway through the set, fans at the Warfield got a surprise.

Bob Weir joined DSO for the second half of first set. Bobby and DSO kicked off the mini-set with “Shakedown Street,” jammed on “Cassidy” and “China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider” and ended the set with “Morning Dew.” This marks Bobby’s first appearance since Dead and Company canceled Playing in the Sand earlier this year. Great to see Weir on stage again!

Watch Remastered Unreleased Footage of the Grateful Dead’s Show at the Capitol Theater from ’77

Deadhead and video technician Christopher Hazard has unearthed and polished a gem—the Grateful Dead’s show from April 27, 1977 at the Capitol Theater in Passaic, NJ. Hazard has been remastering and upgrading when possible old concert footage from the Dead and JGB and posting it on his YouTube channel.

What a treat for new and veteran Deadheads alike to see concert footage from 1977 in 1080p!

Listen to Dead and Company Kick Off Red Rocks Run – 10/19/2021 AUD

Dead and Company are back on the road this fall for their second tour of the year. The crown jewel venue of the fall schedule is a pair of dates at the historic Red Rocks Ampitheatre in Morrison, CO.

Dead and Company Billy Kreutzmann unfortunately had to sit out the shows due to feeling under the weather. Fortunately his COVID tests are negative. Jay Lane took Billy’s spot behind the drums.

On the first of two nights at Red Rocks, Bobby and the boys treated fans to a cover of the Beatles’ “Dear Prudence,” and a massive second set featuring “Scarlet Begonias > Estimated Prophet > Eyes of the World > Fire on the Mountain” to start things off.

Watch Joe Russo’s Almost Dead’s Epic “Comfortably Numb > Morning Dew” to Close Out Westville Music Bowl Run – 9/4/2021 AUD

Joe Russo’s Almost Dead has found a new home this summer. JRAD and their voracious approach to the Dead catalogue actually is at home in many venues including LOCKN and the Capitol Theatre. This summer, they added the newly christened Westville Music Bowl in New Haven, CT to the list.

JRAD performed on three separate weekends at Westville this summer for a total of 9 shows. After their final show this past weekend, a banner commemorating their 9-show residency this summer was unraveled from the rafters of the stadium.

In their LOCKN shows earlier in the summer, JRAD showed off their ability to jam and explore other catalogue’s including Pink Floyd’s. JRAD ended their 9th show with some more Floyd—a soaring cover of “Comfortably Numb” that segued into an equally spine tingling “Morning Dew.”

Dead and Company’s tour bus rolled into Philadelphia ahead of Hurricane Henri this past Saturday. Bobby and the boys played the gig at the home of the Philadelphia Phillies, Citizen Bank Park.

Due to the impending storm, Dead and Co squeezed two sets worth of music into one extended one. Although the setlist looks short, the show was far from a disappointment. Check out the jazzy “Jack Straw,” the excellent “Estimated Prophet” and the epic set-ending “Morning Dew.”
