2017 Full Show AUD

Tedeschi Trucks Band is just a week away from reprising their Wheels of Soul tour this summer. This year, The Wood Brothers and Hot Tuna will be joining TTB for the 20-gig tour.

While there are sure to be plenty of collaborations next month, TTB teamed up with frequent collaborators Paul Barrere and Fred Tackett of the legendary Little Feat. Paul and Fred tour nowadays as an acoustic duo and often open for TTB. At TTB’s gig in Selbyville, Delaware last week, Paul and Fred sat in on the Little Feat masterpiece “Spanish Moon.”

Aside from Paul and Fred’s sit in, there were plenty of other highlights from the show including “Midnight in Harlem,” “Key to the Highway,” “Angel from Montgomery > Sugaree, “Soul Sacrifice” and “Space Captain.”

Listen to Tedeschi Trucks Band Finish D.C. Run with Allman Brothers and George Harrison Covers – 2/25/2017 Full Show AUD

Tedeschi Trucks Band has mastered the run. Their run at the Beacon last fall was approaching legendary status and received the Jam Buzzer for best run of the year. Last night, Tedeschi Trucks Band put the finishing touches on another incredible run, this time at the Warner Theatre in D.C.

Derek, Susan and the gang covered Derek and the Dominoes, Leonard Cohen and the Allman Brothers among others last night. The bust-out of the evening was a tribute to the late Beatles guitarist, George Harrison on what would have been his 74th birthday. TTB covered the George Harrison penned Beatles tune, “Something” in the second set.

To close out the run, TTB laid down an epic 18-minute “I Want More > Soul Sacrifice” with a “Les Brers” tease tucked in for good measure.

Listen to the Tedeschi Trucks Band Three Night Run in Boston – 12/2016 Full Shows AUD

Of all the bands I cover here on Jam Buzz, Tedeschi Trucks Band has been one of my favorites to follow. While they don’t experiement too much, they have absolutely nailed their act. The energy they bring to every show is palpable. Tedeschi Trucks Band simply doesn’t have an ‘off’ night.

Their run at the Orpheum in Boston, MA this past week was a great example of them hitting their stride (or dare I say hitting the note) this year. The run was highlighted by sit-ins from Jorma Kaukonen, Jeff Lockhart, Amy Ray and Jeff Fielder, amazing covers of Joe Cocker among dozens of other artists and tributes to the late Leon Russell. All in all, the three shows clock in at a little over six hours of music.

The final show of their run on Saturday night and final of the year, marked Tedeschi Trucks Band’s 101st show of 2016. Wow.

Thanks to Bob Hundertmark and vanark for the excellent recordings and a shoutout to Sean Roche for the great video footage he got all during the run.

Listen to Tedeschi Trucks Band Live at the Orpheum Theater, Minneapolis, MN – 11/11/2016 Full Show AUD

Tedeschi Trucks Band are back on the road and you’ll hear from this show, they haven’t missed a beat.

Derek usually gets all the guitar praise in the Tedeschi Trucks Band, but the highlight of the night came courtesy of Susan Tedeschi. Susan’s amp blew during the show and Derek covered while she switched out guitars for the Fender. Derek has said in the past that Susan plays best when she is mad. She must have been pissed, because this is smokin’!

TTB busted out a wide range of covers in addition to their originals including a tribute to Leonard Cohen, “Bird On a Wire.”

Watch Tedeschi Trucks Band Burn Down the Beacon With “Had To Cry” On First Night of Run

The long anticipated Tedeschi Trucks Band at the Beacon is finally here! Picking up where the Allman Brothers Band has left off, TTB has made a fall run at the Beacon one of their own traditions.

As he has so many times, Derek Trucks set the Beacon ablaze with his incendiary guitar playing. After a 15 song set with plenty of covers and originals, TTB turned to the Blind Faith tune “Had To Cry” to close out the show before they came out for an encore.

Tedeschi and the other band members had plenty of moments to shine through-out the show. “Had to Cry” was Derek’s time once again. The majority of the 12-minute rendition of the song is Derek peakin’ at the Beacon. Watch as he breaks a string and keeps on wailing away on the last 5 strings.

Thanks to Sean Roche for the awesome footage!

Here are some other performances from the night thanks to Sean.
