Watch Oysterhead Return to the Stage at the Peach Festival – 7/3/2021 Video

After a brief reunion run last year, Oysterhead has reunited again for a headlining gig at the Peach Festival. The power trio consists of Phish frontman Trey Anastasio, Primus bassist Les Claypool and The Police drummer Stewart Copeland.

The band looks as if they hadn’t missed a beat and picked up where they left off last year. In addition to their original material, the trio did a pair of covers including Phish’s “First Tube” and Primus’ “Southbound Pachyderm.”

Watch Trey Anastasio Return to the Beacon Theatre – 6/22/2021 Video

One of the musical saving graces of the pandemic was Trey Anastasio’s residencies at the Beacon Theatre last fall. After a three night run at SPAC, Trey ventured down to NYC for a triumphant return to the Beacon for a pair of shows. This time with a full house.

As he did at SPAC, Trey treated NYC to a healthy mix of originals and Phish tunes including some new arrangements with the Rescue Squad Strings and Jeff Tanski on the keys.

Listen to Trey Anastasio Return to the Stage at SPAC – 6/18/2021 AUD

Trey Anastasio made his first official appearance back in front of a live audience this weekend. The Phish frontman kicked off the summer with a pair of solo acoustic shows at Saratoga Performing Arts Center (better known at SPAC) in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Trey, who had a very productive quarantine, has a busy summer planned with a handful of solo gigs including a pair at the Beacon Theatre, an Oysterhead reunion and Phish tour. To get the tour season started, Trey invited his new friends the Rescue Squad Strings for a part of the show last Friday. The show included some originals and a good helping of Phish tunes including a “Wilson” opener.

Watch Trey Anastasio Band’s Headlining Set from Sweetwater 420 ’17 – 4/21/2021 Video

While one of the seasons first festivals should be underway this weekend, sadly SweetWater 420 Fest has been postponed to 2022. Luckily for us, some of the festival’s best sets from years past are streaming over on the nugsnet YouTube channel.

Tonight’s sets include Moon Taxi’s set from 2019 and Trey Anastasio Band’s set from 2017. The rebroadcast of this killer TAB set sadly coincides with the tragic news of the pass of TAB bassist Tony Markellis today. While we might know Tony for his work with TAB, his history of collaborations and projects is jaw-dropping.

Watch Phish’s Wild MSG Show from 2018 NYE Run – 12/29/2018 Video

Phish is back tonight with another installment of Dinner and a Movie. The latest selection comes from the P-fish’s NYE run back in 2018.

2018 was a big year for Phish. After the heartbreaking decision to cancel their festival Curveball, Trey and the boys hunkered down and cooked up an entirely new album that they debuted on Halloween later that fall. A few of the kasvot vaxt tunes made their way into the NYE run at the end of 2018.

On the second night of the run, arguably their best of the four shows, Trey and Mike did their “Turtle in the Clouds” dance in the first set and then burned down MSG with a filthy “Death Don’t Hurt Very Long” sandwiched between two heaping slabs of “Tweezer” which melted into a cover of Zeppelin’s “No Quarter.” That second set also had a “Carini,” “Also Sprach Zarathustra” and “First Tube.” Yea, it was a pretty awesome set.
