Some prefer Phish for their New Years Run entree in NYC, but if you take the 1, 2 or 3 trains up to the Beacon Theater on the Upper West Side you will see Gov’t Mule play some of their best shows of the year. The Mule Years Eve Beacon run is an annual tradition dating back to 2002. The Mule Years Eve run has varied in length and venue, but always ends at the Beacon, and never disappoints.

The Mule delivered another classic show at the Beacon last night. The setlist included plenty of Mule favorites, epic covers and great sit-ins—everything you would want out of a Mule Years Eve show.

Some of the highlights include Mule’s classic cover of Prince’s “When Doves Cry” into “Beautifully Broken,” Marcus King sitting in on Marshall Tucker Band’s “Can’t You See” and “Freeway Jam,” and Jimmy Vivino’s sit-in for covers of the Grateful Dead’s “The Other One” and Deep Purple’s “Hush.”
