The next stop on our We Will Get By Streaming Tour is the summer of 1972. It’s hard to find a bad Dead show from 1972. It’s also equally hard to find a bad Dead show in Portland, OR.

This show is highlighted by one of the most massive and magnificent “The Other One” jams the Dead ever delivered. Also there are noteworthy versions of “He’s Gone,” “China > Rider” and “Wharf Rat” from the second set.

For our next stop on the We Will Get By Streaming Tour, we head back to Berkeley, California for the Dead’s finale at the Greek Theatre in 1984.

While the first set has Jerry way down in the mix, the first set in no slouch. The Dead launch into a “Dancing in the Street” into a stunning “Bird Song” to start night three.

The second set kicks off with an unusual Beatles cover of “Why Don’t We Do It In the Road,” and features a great “Uncle John’s Band.” While “Drums” and “Space” usually aren’t stand-outs in my book, this is a journey you don’t want to miss.

To cap off the three night run, the Dead treat Berkeley to a double encore—”Brokedown Palace” and then one final burst of electricity with “Johnny B. Goode.”

The We Will Get By Streaming Tour continues onto summer 1970 in San Rafael, CA. This long strange trip has lead us to the Euphoria Ballroom for rare acoustic/electric Dead show.

The Dead opened up with “Don’t Ease Me In” which isn’t captured by the soundboard and has an audio patch. Once you get past the opening the tune, you’ll find the sound to be superb for a 1970 board.

The acoustic set is excellent as not many Dead acoustic sets exist. The “Dark Hollow” is worth the price of admission alone.

The electric set has some interesting tracks as well like a funky “China Cat.” Unfortunately the electric set is plagued by recording issues and we have regrettable cuts in “Easy Wind” and “Good Lovin'” which means less Pig Pen.
